Assignment for October 25
1. Listen to the audio file and write a sentence outline. You need to state the main idea, jot down details i.e. examples given, reasons given, issues discussed. You don't need to write a transcript but you need to present a detailed outline in the order in which they were presented in the audio material.
2. Write a brief essay (about 350 words) discussing your opinions and answers to the questions below. Make your writing as professional as possible. Support your arguments with facts, make your arguments as valid and reasonable as possible.
Essay questions:
In facing your own old age, would you choose to live in a nursing home or with your children? Discuss the differences between the lifestyle and social position of aging parents in Taiwan and in the United States.
